The NASCAR Xfinity Series held their qualifying session Friday afternoon to figure out their starting position for the Pit Boss 250.
There were no issues from the XFINITY qualifying, after we saw one happen earlier in the truck series where Alex Bowman did not qualify for the main event due to a tire going down.
The five fastest drivers moving on to round two at the Circuit of The Americas was AJ Allmendinger, William Byron, Sammy Smith, Riley Herbst, and John Hunter Nemechek.
Two of the drivers from Group A moving on to the second round of qualifying are NASCAR Cup Series drivers, AJ Allmendinger and William Byron.
Group B's fast five were Ty Gibbs, Sheldon Creed, Cole Custer, Parker Klingerman, and Justin Allgaier
8 different racing teams were able to build enough speed to move on to the second round.
AJ Allmendinger captured the pole for Saturday afternoons race in the No. 10 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet.
Cameron Lawerence, Garrett Smithley, Baltazar Leguizamon, and Parker Chase did not qualify for the main event due to speed.
William Byron's lap in the second round of qualifying was disallowed for cutting the esses, he will start 10th.
Cole Custer qualified 6th for the race, but the team found a issue with the brake rotor which needs to be repaired, so Custer will have to give up his sixth place starting position and begin the race in the rear.
